Handsfree
By downloading or using Handsfree ("Handsfree", "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. Handsfree is developed and distributed by Contrast Studio LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Handsfree turns your iPhone into a voice and text client for coding agents — such as Claude Code and Codex — that run on a computer you own and control. It connects to a companion open-source "bridge" program you run on that computer; you speak or type, Handsfree relays your input to the agent, and reads its replies back so you can work hands-free.
Handsfree is a remote interface. It does not run code itself and does not include a coding agent or any AI model. The actual work is performed by the agent on your own computer.
Handsfree requires a separate bridge program running on a computer you control. You are responsible for installing and securing that bridge, for the safety of the machine it runs on, and for any actions a coding agent takes there — including running commands and creating, modifying, or deleting files. Only pair Handsfree with bridges you trust and control.
You are responsible for reviewing and approving the actions a coding agent takes. Handsfree provides permission controls to help you do this, but the final responsibility rests with you.
Claude Code, Codex, and any AI models or services they rely on are provided by third parties under their own terms and are not part of Handsfree. Your use of them — including any accounts, API keys, usage costs, and the content you send and receive — is governed by your agreements with those providers. We are not responsible for their output, accuracy, availability, or charges.
You agree not to use Handsfree for any unlawful purpose, or to direct a coding agent to do anything unlawful or harmful. You are solely responsible for the instructions you give and the work an agent performs on your behalf.
Handsfree is free to use. It offers an optional tip — a one-time, consumable in-app purchase — to support continued development. A tip is a voluntary gratuity: it unlocks no features, content, or functionality, and confers no entitlement beyond an optional in-app acknowledgment of your support.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard policies, which you can find in the App Store. We do not issue refunds directly.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Handsfree app on any Apple device you own or control, subject to these terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The Handsfree iOS app is proprietary; the companion bridge is distributed separately as open-source software under its own license.

Handsfree and all associated content, design, code, and branding are the property of Contrast Studio LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms grants you ownership of any part of the app.
Handsfree is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The app relays input to, and output from, software running on your own computer; we do not warrant the bridge, the coding agents, the AI services they use, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
You assume full responsibility for how you use the app and for any actions taken by a coding agent you connect to it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, damage to files or systems, work performed or deleted by a coding agent, or costs incurred through third-party AI services.
We may update, modify, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time without notice. We are not obligated to provide updates, support, or continued availability of any feature, and the app's usefulness depends on the continued availability and compatibility of the separately distributed bridge and any third-party agents.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
